The Farm Bill

It funds programs like SNAP, providing food assistance to families; supports farmers with crop insurance and disaster relief; and invests in conservation initiatives that protect natural resources like the Chesapeake Bay. Additionally, it fosters rural development by improving infrastructure and expanding broadband access while promoting local food systems and organic farming. For Virginians, the Farm Bill influences food prices, sustainability, and community health, making it essential to understand and engage with its policies.

 

The bill is currently on an extension, and needs bipartisan support to pass.
